Community of Hope also has a long tradition of feeding the homeless. Every month on the 29th, we gather at the Day Center for the Homeless downtown at Archer and Denver to reach out to those whose circumstances have brought them there. We provide them with a hot meal; usually chili, salad, crackers, fruit, cookies and drinks; and we also provide the reassurance that someone still cares. After a couple of years spearheading this mission, Chuck B and Wayne P returned the reins to Brad M. We usually have anywhere from six to twelve volunteers each month, and we feed a crowd of anywhere from 100 to 250 people, but that number usually tends to swell during the colder winter months.
Upon Brad's move from Tulsa in early 2005, Gary M. anc Chuck P. agreed to take on the responsibility of coordinating our feeding the homeless mission.
